OUR CHILDREN'S SPACE jardin d'éveil bilingue (the "JEB" for short) offers an environment tailored to the developmental needs of children from birth to age 6 and up!
At JEB we create purposeful child-centered activities that foster independence, focus, responsibility, and joy in learning. Your child will do more than simply “play” — they’ll grow, create, express themselves and connect with others in French and English, and feel supported every step of the way.
Classes
For families with children ages 9 months to 6 years
Purposeful child-centered activities.
Snacks, songs, coffee or tea included, and lots of joy!
For infants 14/16 months to 2 years.
A class designed to support your child’s growth towards functional independence in eating and toileting. You and your child can enjoy activities like flower arranging, food preparation, puzzles, creative arts, music while building vocabulary in English.

For children 2 to 3 years
Activities in this class help prepare for the transition to school with a focus on social and emotional development. Children can enjoy more challenging activities, while working alongside friends. They will be encouraged to repeat short sentences in English.

For children 3 to 6 years.
Your child can cultivate a more advanced knowledge of the English language through a variety of activities in the 6 learning spaces: practical life, sensory, maths, language, knowledge and understanding of the world (geography / history / botany / zoology) and creativity!

The JEB can reach beyond the studio walls. The programs as well as some material can be transported into the school setting, daycare centres, day camps, playgroups and to youth festivals in and around Avignon. We would be happy to collaborate with grassroots organization and public institutions or associations in the region.
5 half-day sessions a week with activities designed to support a more intensive immersive English language-learning in the 6 learning areas.
This class will follow a theme-a-week and includes the food preparation, snack and cherished song-time!

What is the JEB ?
At OUR CHILDREN'S SPACE jardin d'éveil bilingue (JEB) we have created an engaging environment for young children, one that is tailored to their developmental needs (child-sized materials) and fosters English language learning.
We are:

a space where the family can come and share in language-learning alongside their child. What is learned and mastered here can extend beyond the JEB walls and reach into home and community settings as well (infant-parent classes 🙂) ;

*Inquiry-based and hands-on learning are at the core of Caelan’s teaching philosophy, as is the development of individual life skills required to live in an inclusive classroom. Caelan’s teaching approach is largely inspired by her background in theatre, music and children’s literature.
Caelan Bronskill
Educator & Founder of the JEB
Caelan has dual nationality (Canadian & French) and is fluent in both English and French.
She obtained a Master’s degree in teaching from the University of Aix-Marseilles following the completion of a one-year Master’s program at the University of Ottawa (Canada). She is certified to teach English as a second language and has an
undergraduate degree in English Literature and Civilisation from the University of Avignon. She is also a certified Montessori Practitioner 3/6 years from l’École de L’Optimisme Suresnes (92).
Having worked mostly in English, Caelan has fifteen years of experience implementing educational programs beginning with the Ontario kindergarten and UK Early Years Foundation Learning curricula.
After working as a Primary teacher in the English section of junior kindergarten at the International Bilingual School of Provence in Luynes (13) for five years, Caelan held the position of English Montessori Teacher for two 3/6 classes at l’école Montessori d’Avignon.
Tuition

Sessions are organized on a trimestral basis. There are 13 classes per session;

If a family wishes to enrol in more than one session, a 5% reduction will be applied for 2 sessions (26 weeks) and a 10% reduction for 3 sessions (39 weeks);

For siblings: a discount of -5% is applied for each sibling after the first child is enrolled;

Tuition cost includes participation for both the child(ren) and the adult chaperon :)

Prices are in euros and include taxes;

Tuition will be prorated for students enrolling after the first week of classes.

An administration fee of fifteen (15) euros is requested for each child enrolled in a NIDO class and twenty-five (25) euros for each child enrolled in TODDLER / PRE SCHOOL / SCHOOL AGE class. This fee helps cover the cost of online payments and printing fees. It is only charged once per child and is valid for the entire 2026-2027 year.
FAQ
English will be the primary language used during classes. Children will probably communicate using their first language and that’s OK! Parents or caregivers are invited to participate in the classes by encouraging their child through concentration, active listening and repetition.
Yes! Please wear comfy clothes and bring suitable INDOOR footwear such as slippers or socks with anti-slip pads. You will be asked to remove your outdoor shoes and to leave your telephone in the cloak room. The studio is a phone-free zone!
If you are accompanying a baby to Nido class, please feel free to bring a light snack. Should you need to breastfeed, or bottlefeed, please feel you can do so at ease. For Toddler/Preschool/School Age classes, food preparation is a part of each class so no additional snack food is necessary (the cost of a healthy snack is included in the class fees). If your child has a food allergy or food sensitivity please make sure to provide details on the registration form.
Following is a typical class timeline:
Example: A Preschool class (duration: 1.5-2 hours)
9:30am - Greet the parents and the children by shaking hands with them. Families are welcome to arrive whenever they can.
Your child leads and takes their time to choose an activity by themselves. The parents/caregiver can sit with or nearby their child so that they can help them when needed.
During this time:

Caelan observes and helps when and where needed.

She may sit with a family or step in to help the child with an activity if they need assistance.

She will encourage conversation in English
10:30am - Food preparation for group snack:
Prepare the snack with the children - spread crackers, break open nuts, peel and slice bananas, squeeze orange juice, and peel and slice apples. The food is placed on a plate/in a bowl and the orange juice poured into a larger pitcher/jug, to be shared at group snack time.
11:00am - Group snack time : Caelan will invite the children to set the table. The children help themselves to crackers. Children can pour themselves some juice or water from small jugs. We eat fruit at the end.
When the snack is finished, we transition to singing time. First, the children clear the snack table. Caelan will cue this moment of transition by humming the “circle song” and the children bring their placemats, bowls, glasses, and cutlery to the trolley. Some of the older children or caregivers help to do the washing up instead of coming to sing.
11:15am - The children are invited but it is their choice if they wish to join in. The singing time is a lovely way to close the class together.
11:30am - We say goodbye. Children (and their parents) shake my hand to say goodbye and then go to the cloakroom to put on their outside shoes and coats if needed.
Notes for the NIDO BABY class
The session for a baby class is 1 hour and is the same format as the toddler/preschool classes but with activities for babies instead of toddlers. The babies and adults arrive to class and they begin exploring the space. We close the session with a singing time with very simple songs. There is no structured food preparation or group snack time. Babies are welcome to sit to eat in the snack area whenever they would like.
It is requested that older (+6) siblings not attend the classes.
Younger siblings may attend on a per class basis at a fee if they are over 9 months old.
Please make arrangements in advance with the teacher, in person or via email..
You may schedule one FREE replacement class per trimester or session for any reason, depending on availability. The replacement (or “make-up”) class must be scheduled 24 hours in advance, either in person or via email to jeb.avignon@gmail.com.
Replacement classes do not carry over to the next term. If you are going to miss more than one class, you may try to exchange with another family.
In case of illness: :
If you or your child are showing any of the following symptoms, please stay home and reschedule the missed class.
Symptoms:
– fever
- green or yellow mucus secretions
– diarrhoea
– cough (dry, wheezy with a suspicion for whooping cough)
– feeling unwell, tired, cranky, clingy in general
If Caelan must cancel a class a replacement class will be offered. If it doesn’t work out, you will be reimbursed for the one missed class

An email with a pay link will be sent to you after the completed registration form is received and processed.
Once your payment is received, a confirmation email and pdf receipt will be forwarded to you along with important information and some tips for getting the best out of the program.
Note: enrollment in a session cannot be guaranteed until payment is received. It is possible to pay in installments.
Coming soon…these drop-in classes are similar to a LAEP (lieu d'accueil enfant-parent). You arrive when you wish and leave when you wish. They’re a great way to try out a class at the language learning studio before enrolling, or simply as an enriching experience.
Classes are limited to 8 children.
